Character Animation Idea

My initial Idea was to have Will chase a mugger but it became to much of an action scene and didn't really show off the character other than him being a hero which is brought across by how he looks. As seen below.

So I went back, I came up with the idea of him helping an old lady across the road. The idea is Will sees an old lady next to the road and jumps in to help her across by picking her up and carrying her across, maybe dodging some cars. When he puts her down on the other side he says 'no need to thank me.' The old lady then hits him with her purse and says 'I didn't want to be this side.' Will then looks a little defeated and walks off.

Character Turn Around

This is Will's turn around sheet I had light lines going across to keep everything the same proportion as best I could. I never really imagined my character from behind so that was a new thing for me to wrap my head around to see how it would look to do such a thing.

Character facial expressions

These are various poses and facial expressions for my character Will. He has a very blocky jawline as he is a hero and thus stands out as such. I used the style of Bruce Timm to influence how Will looked I used the general blocky nature that Timm draws Super hero's in and has them stand tall. I wanted Will to be more of an everyday man that went to the gym though, so I pulled him back a bit and made him less square and thinned him down a tad.

I also feel his face is very malleable and can be turned into expression very easily with out it looking out of place for the character but still allowing it to be a bit eccentric in how it's done.

Light Exposure Testing Scenery

These are images I took walking about at night, the lines created by the cars driving are really impressive and give a feeling of motion even if there is none, it just feels so crisp and clear. The pictures with the wavy lines are when I was walking and I feeling it brings a bit more atmosphere it's somewhat unsettling in how it was a familiar place but now it's contorted into a new shape and area, I want to do more with an image like that as the unnerving feeling is great I think.
