These are images I took walking about at night, the lines created by the cars driving are really impressive and give a feeling of motion even if there is none, it just feels so crisp and clear. The pictures with the wavy lines are when I was walking and I feeling it brings a bit more atmosphere it's somewhat unsettling in how it was a familiar place but now it's contorted into a new shape and area, I want to do more with an image like that as the unnerving feeling is great I think.

Initial Light Drawing tests
These are the initial test Images I had for my piece where I was testing drawing with torch by using a long exposure app on my phone. I also was trying certain scenery like under the table to see what effect it would give. I feel I had the torch to close to the camera here so I'll have to move it further back but I like the lines you can create with it and will experiment more.
Innovative Animation Idea
I want to expand upon the idea we had as a group to have a spider run across the city. I wanted to change this to our original idea of a monster akin to Godzilla destroying the city, the problem is how I would do this using light animation is confusing at the moment. I was thinking of super imposing the drawn creature onto a still image background that I have taken.
I have also been looking into music for the piece with it being about a monster I looked at the Godzilla main theme for backing music and the Pacific Rim theme as well for the soundtrack.
I have also been looking into music for the piece with it being about a monster I looked at the Godzilla main theme for backing music and the Pacific Rim theme as well for the soundtrack.
The Godzilla 2014 theme I feel is a bit more monstrous than the others and would fit the piece much better than the others. It just matches the destruction that I imagine much much better.
The original Godzilla theme creates a sense of scale that I would want but doesn't feel like it would match the destruction in the piece I would like.
Once again I feel the Pacific Rim theme gives a sense of scale I desire and want it also kind of fits in with the destruction but it feels like it in a much more heroic way than the Godzilla theme. I want it to be more villainous so I will stick with the Godzilla 2014 theme for the soundtrack.
Michael Bosanko Light Artist
I have been looking into Michael Bosanko's light animation pieces I want to incorporate something like that into my idea. I found it interesting how he creates images using only a torch, I wanted to do something similar but mixing places as well and using the light created by surround sources like the lamp posts and such.

Innovative Animation Presentation
Week One Surface Animation
https://vimeo.com/145825355
For the first week, I was grouped with Dan, Curt, Gin, and Julia. I took the pictures for this piece.
We each tried to come up with and idea for the piece, from there we would decide what we wanted our piece to be. Ultimately we ended on the planet. I feel like we could have done more with what we had in ways in which it transitions and what not it could have easily been substantially more.
Week 2
https://vimeo.com/145825335
The group this week was the same a previous minus Julia. I helped with the cutouts while Curt and Gin did the animation.
This was better than the previous attempt we had but once again it could have used some work the soundtrack didn't fit. This was partly down to a miscommunication between me and Dan Where I had a certain point of the music in mind.
Week 3
https://vimeo.com/145825339
The group once again remained the same, I mainly painted but helped out a little with the animation itself.
The idea changed a bit from what it started out as but we had a bit of fun though the technique itself was rather fiddly and when we moved a piece it would take others with it etc. There was also the problem of the material we painted on showing up in the images we took.
Week 4
https://vimeo.com/145825329
This weeks group was me, Emily and Ric. We used my cut outs for this piece.
Though I like the idea we had for this piece and the fun we had in post production. I feel like we could have improved it and made it much better with more going on it was very basic and rather rushed in some ways. We did discuss ideas at the time but they didn't fit that well with what we were going for.
Week 5
https://vimeo.com/145825328
I was with Remel and Dan this time. I some of the animation and camera work this time.
I liked the idea we had for this piece with a monster or something storming around a city but due to time restraints I couldn't achieve what I wanted so we scaled it back to have a spider 'explore' the city which we had taken pictures of. This was a lot of fun especially just talking about it. I wish we could have spent more time on it to clean it up and improve it.
